Fukuoka Airport has unveiled a new “Access Hall” in its international arrivals area ahead of its December 3 opening. Designed to accommodate increased passenger traffic, the hall includes a bus terminal and expands the existing arrivals lobby threefold to 6,300 square meters. The hall incorporates local features like ceilings made from Kyushu timber and benches crafted with traditional Okawa kumiko patterns. A tourism information center within the facility will connect visitors to tours across Kyushu.
From December 3, a bus-only road will reduce travel time between the international and domestic terminals from 15 minutes to 10 minutes. A further reduction to 5 minutes is planned by 2026. The international terminal will officially reopen on March 28, 2025, with enhanced security and duty-free facilities. Source: Fukuoka Airport / NHK
