Fukuoka Airport recorded its first net profit since privatization in fiscal 2025 as passenger numbers reached a record high. Airport operator Fukuoka International Airport Co. said total domestic and international passengers rose to approximately 28.83 million during the fiscal year. Operating revenue climbed to a record JPY71 billion, while net profit reached JPY5.6 billion. Company officials credited the performance to expanded flight capacity following the opening of a second runway last March and stronger-than-expected spending at international terminal duty-free shops and food courts. The operator expects passenger numbers to rise further to 29.24 million this fiscal year and plans additional investment, including extending the international concourse and developing new domestic terminal facilities.
