Fukuoka Airport Reports Huge Deficit

On November 11, Fukuoka International Airport Co., Ltd. announced a fiscal deficit of ¥11.7 billion during the April-September term of 2020. Under the impact of the new coronavirus spread, the number of domestic and international passengers who used the airport between April and September decreased by 81%, compared to the same period in 2019. The airport plans a considerable cut in winter bonuses for staff and pay cuts for the board members. It also anticipates a delay in opening the new commercial complex, originally planned to be completed inside the domestic terminal by April 2023. Source: NHK / Nikkei
