Fukuoka-based Publisher to Bear Delivery Book Delivery Cost

While major bookstores announce temporary closure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, a local publisher in Fukuoka started a free shipping service for individual customers. Shosikankanbou, which publishes approximately fifty titles annually, started the project to support reading opportunities. Reflecting on the current closures of local libraries and other shops, the company offers free shipping until May 31. Though similar services are standard amongst major online shops, it is quite rare for a publishing company. Source and Photo: Kankanbou
