Residents of Fukuoka City can now use the LINE Pay application to settle various tax bills. The city began accepting payments made on LINE’s cashless service on April 1. The app can be used to pay for light vehicle tax, city/prefectural tax (standard collection), real estate tax, city planning tax, and property tax (on depreciable assets). Cashless transactions look set to become increasingly ubiquitous in Fukuoka, with LINE’s app now an acceptable form of payment in a number of public facilities throughout the city. The aim is to provide convenient services for city residents, help inbound tourists, and improve efficiency for those engaged in clerical work. Source: Fukuoka City, 4/1/2019
