Fukuoka City and Prefecture Asking Residents to Refrain From Ohanami

Fukuoka Prefecture and City are asking people to refrain from holding ‘hanami’ (cherry blossom viewing) parties. The goal is to reduce the risk of corona infections in crowded environments, including gathering at local parks while enjoying food or beverages. Popular viewing spots such as Maizuru Park and Tenjin Chuo Park are included. However, the government is not discouraging viewing cherry blossoms while walking.
