Fukuoka City has discontinued the use of hanko seals for 3,800 paper-based procedures. Except for 900 procedures that carry national or legal requirements for personal hanko, all other paperwork can now be processed without taking the trouble of bringing personal stamps to local offices. Reflecting on the increased need for online procedures to minimize the risk of spreading the new coronavirus infections, the city had moved up the schedule for this matter.
