May 28, the Fukuoka Chuo Police Station awarded letters of appreciation to three Fukuoka City Road & Wastewater Bureau employees who caught a man later arrested for cell phone camera voyeurism. The three heroes – Mr. Hiromichi Yashima, Mr. Hiroyuki Iura, and Mr. Keizo Watanabe – caught the suspect on May 17 in Tenjin 2-chome at 23:00, after hearing a woman scream “somebody catch that man”. They pursued him on foot, and managed to corner him, and catch him on the road. The criminal had allegedly taken a photo up the victim’s skirt with his mobile phone and tried to run away, but was arrested after capture.The Head of Fukuoka Chuo Police Station commented “The three men used teamwork to catch him, and we’re glad they are not hurt.” Source: Nishinippon Shimbun May 30
