Three facilities providing long-term care for the aged in Fukuoka City have reported a total of 82 accidents involving the patients over the past five years. Of these, 29 resulted in death caused by falls or mistakenly drinking the wrong thing. The facilities say that the cause of these accidents is not due to a single set of circumstances, but rather that chronic personnel shortages may be a factor.
