Fukuoka City Opens Processing for ¥100,000 Subsidy – Kitakyushu Launches Drive-Through PCR Testing – Prefecture Total Now 641

On April 30, Fukuoka Prefecture announced three more confirmed COVID-19 infections and the twentieth death linked to the virus. The cumulative total for the prefecture now stands at 641. In Kitakyushu City, a PCR testing center will open at the former Yahata Hospital site (Yahata-higashi Ward) on May 2. Drive-through tests will be conducted on only those who receive medical doctors’ instructions to take the test. The facility will operate Mon. ~ Sat. Meanwhile, Fukuoka City announced it would accept online applications for the nation’s ¥100,000-handout project, beginning at 8:30 a.m. today (May 1.) Residents who have their My Number Cards (*with photographs) can register via ‘My Portal’ website. Delivery of required documents for those who apply via mail should expect some delay due to required processing. The money will be transferred to people’s accounts from May 11.
