Fukuoka City Set to Revise Street Stall Operating Policy

A Fukuoka City committee for reevaluating the city’s policy toward its well-known street stalls is preparing to release a recommendation that will permit new people to enter the business through public solicitation. The mechanism for the solicitation and the requirements for applying have yet to be determined. The committee is also considering allowing new operators to take over existing stalls in existing locations, and to allow new participants to set up stalls in locations the city thinks will enhance tourism.
