Fukuoka City Transportation Bureau revealed on June 6 plans to increase fares for the Fukuoka City Subway. The price hike will take effect in October when the consumption tax in Japan rises to 10%. Amongst six fixed fare levels, four including the base fare will be raised by ¥10. The new base fare will be ¥210. A proposal for the new fare system will be discussed at the city’s assembly beginning on June 13. Source: NHK News Web, 6/6/2019
