Fukuoka City Ties Up With Expedia For Tourism Promotion

City Hall recently signed a tourism promotion agreement with U.S.-based Expedia, one of the world’s largest online travel agents. It is the first municipality in Kyushu, and the third in Japan, to ink an agreement with Expedia. With the number of foreign visitors to Fukuoka expected to continue increasing, Expedia will analyze large volumes of data, including numbers of tourist lodgers by country and region and reservation statistics, and share this with City Hall. Expedia will also use one of its websites to showcase information about Fukuoka’s hotels and tourist attractions, and it plans to offer inbound seminars for lodging facility owners. Using its network, which spans more than 75 countries, Expedia aims to attract more visitors from Western countries to Japan. Source: fiba.jp
