Fukuoka City to Begin Bids for Former Site of Daimyo Elementary School

Fukuoka City is set to start accepting offers from private enterprises interested in redeveloping the site of the former Daimyo Elementary School. Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd., JR Kyushu, Fukuoka-based developers, and major companies from Tokyo are said to be planning bids for the plot of land, which is approximately 1.2 hectares in size. Authorities are also hoping to attract luxury hotel chains from overseas in an effort to further develop the city. The aim for the city is to offer their preferred choice first refusal rights by March next year. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 10/28/2017
