Fukuoka Election Results

A general election was held in Japan on Sunday, Dec. 16. Voters gave the Liberal Democratic Party a landslide victory, ejecting the Democratic Party of Japan from power after just three years. Voting took place in all representatives constituencies of Japan including proportional blocks, in order to appoint Members of Diet to seats in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. This was the 46th general election of members of the House of Representatives (第46回衆議院議員総選挙) in Japan since 1890. Here is a list of the successful candidates in Fukuoka Prefecture: 1st constituency: Takahiro Inoue, 2nd constituency: Makoto Oniki, 3rd constituency: Atsushi Koga, 4th constituency: Hideki Miyauchi, 5th constituency: Yoshiaki Harada, 6th constituency: Kunio Hatoyama, 7th constituency: Satoshi Fujimaru, 8th constituency: Taro Aso, 9th constituency: Asahiko Mihara. 10th constituency: Kozo Yamamoto, 11th constituency: Ryota Takeda. Not one candidate from The Democratic Party of Japan (Minshu-to) was elected in Fukuoka Pref. In total, there were 10 successful candidates from the Liberal Democratic Party (Jimin-to) including ex Prime Minister Taro Aso.
