Local companies are launching social business initiatives amidst the impact of the new coronavirus spread. One example is Seiko Electric Co., Ltd., a Fukuoka-based manufacturer that has released an AI-combined one-second temperature measurement camera. The system automatically detects humans by spotting faces and measures body temperatures of up to thirty people at a time. Meanwhile, the operating company of Gochimeshi food application released ‘Sakimeshi‘ to support local eateries. Users can pay for their future take-out meals via the app (*within six months). In Kyushu, approximately 180 shops have already registered, and the company is seeking more collaborators via their official website. Sources: Seiko Denki
