Fukuoka Prefecture is reportedly bidding to host the 2026 Asian Games. The only other prefecture in Japan to bid so far is Aichi Prefecture, which confirmed its intent in January. The Japanese Olympic Committee will begin the selection process for a single candidate. The final selection including other nations will be decided at the general meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia in 2018. The games were previously held in Japan twice with Tokyo hosting in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. Source: Japan Times
