Eighteen hotels took part in a hospitality recruitment fair in Fukuoka’s Hakata Ward on Oct. 13. The city and other organizers held the event amid concerns about labor shortages in the accommodation industry. Students heard about hotel jobs and working conditions from participating employers. Fukuoka City received 4.33 million foreign visitors last year, up 430,000 and a record for the second consecutive year. The city plans to support hotel recruitment and retention through measures including training and subsidies. Source: RKB News / Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau
