Fukuoka International Airport (FIAC) Reveals Thirty Year Plan

Fukuoka International Airport (FIAC) revealed its business plan for the next 30 years including an investment of ¥330 billion. In the first five years, the company will focus on opening new commercial facilities in the domestic terminal to increase profitability. Later on by around 2026, it will double the size of the international terminal and invite a five-star hotel. While a budget of ¥228 billion will be used to renovate the terminals, ¥102 billion will be spent to elevate the airport’s functions such as the opening of a new runway in 2025. The airport targets to increase the number of users to 150% by opening approximately fifty new flight routes by the fiscal year 2048. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 4/24/2019
