Fukuoka Minimum Wage to be Raised

The minimum wage in Fukuoka Prefecture will be raised by ¥25. From October, companies within the prefecture will be expected to pay employees at least ¥814 an hour. The Fukuoka Labor Bureau announced the news at a press conference on August 31. Every year, local prefectures set their minimum wage after taking into consideration recommendations put forth by a national inquiry. The Fukuoka Labor Bureau stated that they plan to raise awareness about the new minimum wage and will attempt to ensure that companies implement the guidelines. Source: NHK News Web, 8/31/2018
