Fukuoka Police Probe Nepali Student’s Death as Murder

Police identified the woman found in the Naka River in Tenjin on August 19 as Laxmi Rajbanshi, a 25-year-old Nepali vocational school student. An autopsy did not establish the cause of death, but investigators found multiple head injuries believed to have been caused by a blunt object. Blood and signs of a struggle were discovered at her home, about two kilometers from where her body was found. Rajbanshi was last seen leaving work alone by bicycle at around 10:30 p.m. on August 18. An acquaintance reported her missing roughly four and a half hours later. Police formed a 70-member investigation team and are treating the case as murder. Source: RKB News / TNC News
