Fukuoka Prefectural Governor Calls for Thorough Infection Control Measures

In response to the spread of the new coronavirus, Fukuoka Prefecture’s Governor Hattori stated that “we are now in the seventh wave” and called once again for thorough implementation of basic infection control measures. The number of newly infected people in Fukuoka Prefecture exceeded 6,000 for the first time last week, a record high, and the utilization rate of hospital beds exceeded 40% as of yesterday. He then stated, “We are not in a situation where there is an immediate concern for a shortage in the medical supply system, but we must continue to exercise maximum vigilance,” and reiterated his call for thorough implementation of basic infection control measures, such as avoidance of three close quarters and ventilation, as well as vaccination.
