Fukuoka Prefecture Establishes Committee for International Human Resources

Fukuoka Prefecture launched a committee for accepting foreign human resources on June 5 to prepare for an increase of international workers. Reflecting the introduction of the new “Status of Residence” in Japan in April, the prefecture established the committee in collaboration with 59 national and local organizations. At its first meeting on June 5, the importance of supporting foreign employees not only through their work but also in their daily lives was noted. The committee will prepare for opening a multilingual support center and conduct a survey to understand possible challenges and hurdles in hiring foreigners. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture, 5/31/2019
