Fukuoka Prefecture to Battle Sex Crimes Through Education

The Fukuoka Prefectural Police Headquarters revealed that 411 sexual offenses were reported in 2017. Based on the number of crimes committed per 100,000 people, this is believed to be the second highest figure in the country, with only Osaka ranking higher. In order to deter such offenses, the prefectural assembly is looking to take measures that will improve in-school education on the topic. The assembly is drafting a bill and hopes to pass the regulations within the year. Source: NHK News, 1/19/2018
