Fukuoka Prefecture to Cover Tuition Fees for Hard Hit University Students

On June 5, Kitakyushu City announced five more cases of the new coronavirus infection. The city has seen 135 instances during the past fourteen days. Rates of positive PCR tests in the prefecture during the past three days stands at 1.0%.  The prefecture also unveiled its third supplementary budget, including extended support for closed businesses in Kitakyushu City. Additionally, it will appropriate ¥41 million to exempt university and college students from fees for those who suffer financial hardship.
