Fukuoka Prefecture’s Wage Increases Surpass National Average

This spring’s wage negotiations in Fukuoka Prefecture have resulted in an average wage increase of 5.98%, including regular pay raises, surpassing the national average, according to Rengo Fukuoka’s compilation. The federation of labor unions in Fukuoka revealed on April 8th that the increase amounted to an average of ¥16,936 or 5.98% following a survey of responses from 58 unions up to April 2nd. This rate exceeds the national average by 0.74 points. Remarkably, the wage increase rate for small to medium-sized unions with fewer than 300 members also reached over 4% for the first time since the current method of calculation was adopted in 2015, registering at 4.64%.
