The Fukuoka City International Foundation is running a homestay program that sends senior-high school students, currently living or studying in Fukuoka City, to two of Fukuoka’s sister cities: Oakland (USA), and Ipoh (Malaysia). The homestay program includes visits to local high schools. Six students will be selected to visit Oakland from Jul. 24~Aug. 5 at a cost of ¥110,000 (tax incl.). Eight students will be selected to visit Ipoh from Aug.5~14 at a cost of ¥70,000 (tax incl.). All participants are required to attend a send-off ceremony and various workshops before and after the homestay. To apply, download and fill out the application form (avail. on the official website) and return it by mail or in person by May 12. Applicants will be selected after interviews are conducted in English and Japanese.
