Fukuoka Subway Rolls Out Renovated Trains Today

The new train ‘2000N’ begins operation on the Fukuoka Subway Kuko Line and Hakozaki Line as of Jan. 7. The renovated six-car train (former ‘2000’ models) were upgraded to provide ease of use for overseas visitors and those with disabilities. Displays inside each car provide multilingual announcements (Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean.) Also, lights and speakers are installed at door sides to help visually and hearing-impaired passengers. The transportation bureau plans to refresh all of the five remaining trains by the end of the fiscal year of 2023. Source: Nikkei / NHK
