Fukuoka City has officially been selected to host the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final competition. The GP finals will be held at Marine Messe Fukuoka between 12/5~8, 2013. Ms. Seiko Hashimoto, the chairperson of Japan Skating Federation visited Fukuoka City on the 19th and made an official announcement. The Governor of Fukuoka, Hiroshi Ogawa and Mayor Soichiro Takashima and Susumu Ishihara, Chairman of JR Kyushu welcomed her. Ms Hashimoto said “Fukuoka has been very enthusiastic in promoting figure skating. Fukuoka City is also very well prepared to host such an event, and very supportive.” The Governor said “This is a great chance to introduce Fukuoka to the world!” The GP series will be held 6 sites in the world.
