Fukuoka is predicted to enjoy the earliest first blooms of the sakura season in all of Japan. Weather forecasters announced that cherry blossom trees in the prefecture would bloom as early as Mar. 12 and become full bloom by Mar. 21. Early than normal cherry blossoms are forecasted in other regions, including Nagasaki, thanks to the warmer weather in February.
