Fukuoka Tower is getting ready to kick off its Christmas illumination – and anyone in the area last night (Nov. 7) would have received a preview as they tested the lights. This year, Fukuoka’s landmark tower made the switch to LED lights – 2,700 of them to be exact. The switchover means the total amount of electricity used during illumination period will be reduced by 30%. LED lights also allow more detailed animated designs to be created – look out for dynamic designs of falling snow, and a sliding Santa Claus on the tower’s structure!
