Fukuoka Weather Update – Tuesday

A gale warning has been issued for Fukuoka City, effective until the evening of Jan. 26 (Tue.). Waves will also be higher and stronger than usual. Omuta City and Keisen-machi, Fukuoka both suffered water pipe problems that affected approximately 60,000 households, with Japan Self-Defense Forces having to supply water on the morning of Jan. 26. Here are the latest travel updates for Fukuoka (accurate as of 1/26, 11:00).

JR Nishinippon Shinkansen: currently operating normally.

Nishitetsu Highway buses:
– Kokura ~ KitaQ Airport + Kurosaki ~ KitaQ Airport: operating normally
– Fukuoka ~ KitaQ, Kokura, Shimonoseki, Yukuhashi, Nogata: detours
– Fukuoka ~ Nobeoka: still not operating due to piled snow in Misatomachi and Yamato-cho ~ Takachiho areas.
– Other bus routes are awaiting further forecast information.

Regular buses: operating/operating with detours depending on area.
City Subway: currently operating normally.

Kyushu Highway:
– Koga ~ Hirokawa (both ways) closed due to snow
– Enokida ~ Fukushige (both ways) closed due to snow
– Koga ~ Moji (both ways) open with 80 km limit
– Tsukiguma + Dazaifu area closed due to snow

Fukuoka Urban Expressway:
– Fukushige ~ Dazaifu closed
– Dazaifu → Enokida closed
– Enokida → Gofuku-machi: 3 km traffic
– Fukushige → Meinohama: 2 km traffic
– Chiyo entrance currently closed
