A shochu distillery in Asakura City, Shinozaki Co., Ltd., launched a craft whisky-distilling project. Construction of the first whiskey distillery in Fukuoka Prefecture will be completed in May, with whiskey production set to start from August. The company also manages a forest in Hita City, Oita Prefecture, from which it will take lumber to manufacture barrels.
