Fukuoka Prefecture-based Toyota Motors Kyushu announced it would further reduce its planned production totals for FY 2008 to achieve a level of roughly 290,000 units. The company’s plans at the beginning of the year called for a normal production level of 440,000 units, but slumping sales in the primary North American market caused the downward revision. This will be the lowest number of autos the company has produced since FY 2004.
