Gas Prices to Rise in Kyushu

Kyushu Electric Power (Kyuden), Okinawa Electric Power Company, and Saibu Gas Co., Ltd. announced on July 27 plans to increase their prices in order to reflect fluctuations in the cost of raw materials. A Kyuden customer using 250 kilowatt hours of energy a month will pay around ¥40 more for September compared to what they spent in August. Okinawa Electric households that use 260 kilowatt hours will be charged an additional ¥73, while Saibu Gas customers that use 23 cubic meters will pay an extra ¥26.
