Fukuoka College of Agriculture in Chikushino City was awarded an international GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) recognition for its Amaou strawberry. The college introduced GAP certification to its curriculum as one of the efforts to educate students with the latest skills and knowledge in agriculture. Twelve students who major in the production of strawberries studied possible risks in growing berries and practiced countermeasures for them. This is the first certification of the global GAP for a college in Kyushu and the second certification for a strawberry producer in Japan. Source: Fukuoka College of Agriculture
