Hakata-ori Kimono for Coming of Age Ceremony

Hakata textile manufacturer Okano has developed a new line of kimono made using Hakata-ori, a traditional textile with a history that dates back to the 1200s. The range is aimed at young adults who will celebrate their coming of age ceremony (who turned or will turn 20 between April 2 of the previous year and April 20 of the coming year) in 2020. The textile manufacturer’s designs will be exhibited on the 9th floor of Fukuoka Mitsukoshi from July 10 to 15 at the Kenjo Hakata-ori Exhibition. Limited edition items will be available to purchase. The company will start accepting orders next year. Source: PR Times, 7/4/2019
