Hakata Station Unveils Lost-and-Found Christmas Tree

JR Hakata Station unveiled a four-meter Christmas tree on December 10 decorated with stuffed toys, keychains, and other unclaimed lost items. About 20 children from a nearby nursery helped decorate the tree and added message cards expressing their wishes. The station receives around 45,000 lost items each year, many of which remain unclaimed. The display will remain until December 25, after which the items will be distributed to those who request them. Staff said the project aimed to create a different seasonal atmosphere while reminding passengers to check for belongings during the busy year-end period. Source: JR Kyushu / RKB
