Fukuoka City is planning to carry out reconstruction work on the Hakata Ward Office. Developers plan to ensure that the renovated government office will be better prepared to deal with disasters and help accommodate people stranded during emergencies. Machines will be installed on the first floor of the premises that will dispense resident cards to help reduce congestion. A cafe and multi-purpose space will also be set up inside the building. The new facilities will be completed and be open for public use in 2022. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 6/9/2018
