Hatsumode Services Available Earlier To Reduce Congestion at Shrines

Beginning on Dec. 1, Hakozaki-gu Shrine in Fukuoka City welcomes visitors of ‘saisaki-mode,’ the earlier visits, to wish good luck in 2022. Good luck charms and other items to celebrate the new year are already available, as well as new-year prayers by the shrine guji (priest.) New year items and some related services will be available until late February to reduce congestion. Source: NHK 1 / NHK 2
