Fukuoka Prefecture is accepting donations to local medical workers as a means of expressing appreciation to their hard work amidst the spread of COVID-19. Beginning on May 11, donations will be accepted at the bank account listed below. Akira Nakamura, a Softbank Hawks player, whose mother is a medical nurse, was present at an online donation ceremony and sent out a heartwarming message to medical professionals while making a ¥10 million contribution. Other members of the baseball team previously launched a crowdfunding project to support local children.
