Six players from the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks have been selected to join Japan’s team for the World Baseball Classic 2013 tournament. Japan’s team for the series has a total of 34 members, including the following Hawks players: Tadashi Settsu (pitcher), Kenji Odonari (pitcher), Mitsuhiko Morifuku (pitcher), Nobuhiro Matsuda (infield), Yuichi Honda (infield), and Seiichi Uchikawa (outfield). The World Baseball Classic starts March 2013, with the first round for pool A teams (Japan, Brazil, Cuba, China) to be held at Fukuoka Yahoo Japan Dome from March 2~6.
