Historical Golden Tea Room Recreated Inside Karatsu Museum

The Saga Prefectural Nagoya Castle Museum in Saga Prefecture has recreated the historical golden tea room that served then-Emperor and other international guests during the Azuchi-momoyama times. The tiny room of about 9 square meters was created under the command of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who unified Japan during the Sengoku period. The detailed recreation of the shiny room cost some ¥55 million. The museum will hold approximately thirty tea-ceremony experiencing events each year and allow visitors to observe the room regularly.
