Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. established a new home builder, specializing in the use of Kyushu-sourced lumbers. Mec Industry (Kagoshima) was founded in January 2020 by Mitsubishi Estate and six other investors, including Takena Corporation. It sources high-quality lumber from the prefectures of Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima and processes them at its lumberyard in Kagoshima.
