Honda Motors announced it will begin production of its new large motorcycle in February 2013 at their only domestic motorcycle plant in Kumamoto Prefecture. The new product is designed both for daily commutes and for weekend touring. The company projects sales of several tens of thousands in North America. Production of smaller motorbikes has shifted overseas, and the Kumamoto plant is specializing in the advanced technology required to produce mid-size and larger bikes.
