Immigration Bureau Collaborates with Fukuoka City NPOs

The Immigration Bureau and NPOs in Fukuoka City have decided to strengthen support for foreign residents’ daily lives to create a society where it is easier for foreign residents to live. The Fukuoka Immigration Bureau and the Global Life Support Center, an NPO in Fukuoka City, held a joint press conference on November 1. The Corona Disaster has brought to light the problems of foreign residents in Japan, such as difficulties with the system and procedures in terms of living and working in Japan and the lack of information from government agencies. For this reason, a new “Network of Foreigner Support Specialists” has been established, and 32 companies and individuals, including NPOs, that provide support to foreign residents and the Immigration Bureau will work together to solve these problems. The Immigration Bureau will cooperate with 32 companies and individuals, including NPOs, who support foreign residents, to resolve issues. This is the first time in Kyushu that the Immigration Bureau and NPOs have started such cooperation to support foreign residents. Source: Global Life Support Center / NHK
