Influenza Cases Surge in Fukuoka

Influenza cases in Fukuoka Prefecture more than doubled last week, prompting Fukuoka City to issue an influenza advisory on November 6—about a month earlier than last year. From October 27 to November 2, the average number of patients per medical institution rose to 8.47, up 2.16 times from the previous week, while Fukuoka City’s rate exceeded the alert threshold at 10.88. Authorities are urging residents to practice handwashing, ventilation, and mask use, and to seek medical care promptly. The prefecture also continues to warn about “apple disease,” which has triggered alerts for 25 consecutive weeks. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture
