A survey conducted by the Fukuoka City-based Fukuoka Financial Group found that more than 70% of regional respondents said they would like to fly on low cost carriers if they had the chance. Broken down further, 44% said they would like to use the LCCs, 11% said they had already done so and would do it again, and 9% said they would prefer LCCs over the more established airlines. In contrast, 4% said they wouldn’t use LCCs and 11% said they would prefer not to. Of this group, 67% cited safety concerns for their lack of interest.
