Fukuoka City announced that Tokyo-based special purpose company (SPC) Hakata Island City Property will break ground on a comprehensive distribution facility on Island City in July, with hopes to complete it by next April. The facility has been tentatively named the Hakata Island City Distribution Center and it will cover an area of 49,000 m2, making it the largest such facility in the Hakata Port area. Hakata Island City Property will build the distribution center in cooperation with Tokyo-based warehouse developer Inui Warehouse Co. and an American investment advisory firm.
