Itoshima Announces Additional Budget for Corona Impact Measures

Itoshima City has appropriated an additional ¥561 million budget for anti-coronavirus measures. Education-wise, the city developed a package of ¥264 million to distribute tablet devices for all elementary and junior high students in the region. Businesswise, the city, aims to promote shifts to a “new lifestyle” by subsidizing up to ¥200,000 (¥20 million in total) to local mid and small-sized companies who prepare to launch e-commerce or delivery services. The city will also discuss tax exemptions for research and accommodation facilities related to the Gakken Toshi Development (Academia-Research City Development) project at the assembly starting on June 15.
